Welcome to the GDMUA! This site is will provide information needed for umpires, coaches, and those individuals interested in becoming a member of the Greater Des Moines Umpires Association.

What We Do

The GDMUA has over 150 member umpires. During the current ball season (mid March through mid October) over 14,000 youth and adult baseball or softball games are worked by our organization. The GDMUA prides itself in putting quality umpires on the field and has maintained great working relationships with surrounding leagues and associations.

 Why You Should Belong to an Association

• Advocacy: Associations represent members' best interest.
• Convenience: Associations are a great resource for advice, contacts and inspiration. Members also receive game assignments from a game secretary. 
• Friendship: Members often have many of the same interests and goals.

• Give & Take: An association offers a forum to openly discuss many ideas on problems and how to get them solved in a respectful manner.
